to Entrepreneur
Star Landscaping & Construction LLC was born from David Hernandez's years in the landscaping industry working for another company. After mastering his craft and recognizing a gap in the market for a contractor that actually showed up, communicated, and delivered he made the decision to go independent.
The goal was never just to build a business. It was to build something different. A company where clients aren't just project numbers but people whose visions matter. Where the truck that shows up is the truck you called. Where a handshake means something.
In 2016, Star Landscaping & Construction LLC opened its doors in Thornton, Colorado. Today, backed by a growing list of loyal clients including real estate investors, homeowners, and commercial property managers across Colorado, the company continues to grow fueled by referrals, reputation, and results.

2016
Star Landscaping Founded
David and Tanya establish Star Landscaping & Construction LLC in Thornton, CO, beginning with residential landscaping and lawn care throughout the Denver metro area.
2017
Expansion into Hardscaping & Concrete
Growing demand from residential clients leads to the addition of hardscaping services patio design, retaining walls, concrete driveways, and walkways.
2019
Commercial Maintenance Contracts
Star Landscaping begins servicing commercial properties, HOA communities, and multi-family residential complexes throughout the Front Range.
2022
Outdoor Living Division
Launch of full outdoor living construction services pergolas, composite decking, outdoor kitchens, and luxury landscape design for premium residential clients.

As the primary client contact, she ensures that every project runs smoothly from the initial consultation and estimate through to final walkthrough and follow-up. Her warmth, organizational precision, and commitment to client satisfaction have been central to the company's reputation for outstanding communication.

David Hernandez

David is the hands-on visionary behind Star Landscaping's craftsmanship and technical execution. With years of industry experience prior to founding the company, he brings deep expertise in landscape installation, concrete work, hardscaping design, and structural outdoor construction.
